What’s involved:

  • Plan, organize, and direct activities for the delivery of projects.

  • Ability to drive projects and work within strict deadlines.
  • Excellent understanding of Health & Safety requirements within Irish construction sites.

As a bid manager, you will lead the bid process, from opportunity identification to proposal submission.

The Bid Manager will ensure the timely submission of high-quality proposals that meet client requirements, managing the bid budget and resources effectively and establishing compliance with all requirements and guidelines. What’s Involved

  • Lead and coordinate the entire bid management process, including opportunity identification, qualification, reviewing bid invitations, conducting bid/no-bid analysis and establishing timelines.
  •  Managing bid budgets, resources and timelines to ensure on-time and high-quality proposal submissions.
  • Participating in negotiation sessions to secure favourable terms and conditions while focusing on profitability.
  • Ensuring compliance with client requirements, regulations and industry standards.
  • Evaluate new business opportunities through monitoring public and private sector tender portals, market research, competitor analysis and client needs assessment.
  • Develop compelling and persuasive bid content, including executive summaries, value propositions, pricing models and technical responses.
  • Work with pricing teams to develop competitive pricing strategies that align with bid requirements and profitability targets.
  • Monitor and track bid performance metrics, analysing win/loss data to identify trends and areas for improvement, conduct post-bid analysis and debrief sessions.
  • Continuously refine and improve bid processes, templates and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market insights and emerging best practices in bid management.
  • Qualifications, skills & experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction/quantity surveying or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a bid manager, proposal manager or a similar role.
  • Experience in managing bids for complex projects or large-scale contracts.
  • Strong understanding of the bid lifecycle with demonstrated success in winning bids through effective proposal management, and strong negotiation skills.
  • Well acquainted with the Irish market, contract laws, regulations, and industry specific bid requirements.
  • Understanding pricing strategies and financial analysis in bid development.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and manage multiple bids simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess bid opportunities and develop winning strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.

  • Develop project plans and schedules and execute plans to achieve agreed outcomes
  • Comply with the Health & Safety aspects of the project in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Co-ordinate project activities in accordance with company Quality System, Standard Quality Procedures and Engineering Specifications.
  • Manage complete day to day life-cycle of project from initial stages through to hand-over.

  • Work to resolve critical site issues and take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site.
  • Obtain all necessary internal permits.

  • Manage the day-to-day internal finishes on site.
  • Manage project in line with the agreed production targets and work flow of sub-contractors ensuring they are in line with the program of works on site.
  • Agree sub-contractors’ long term and short term program and monitor performance.
  • Ensure highest level of health and safety and Quality is upheld at all times.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years experience in a PM role in construction.
  • Ideally experienced in Public Contract construction.
  • Must have experience Project Managing the construction of Residential developments.
  • Third level qualification in construction management/Civil Engineering.
  • Excellent delegation & organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of quality and safety management systems.
  • Good IT skills with ability to generate detailed site reports.
  • Ability to drive projects and work within strict deadlines.
  • Excellent understanding of Health & Safety requirements within Irish construction sites.
  • Full Irish driving licence.

  • Prepares and submits reports and other paperwork in a timely manner.

  • Positively liaising with your mentor on your continuous professional development.
