Project Description:
The An Doirín Residential Development is a high-quality social housing scheme delivered using Innovative Construction Formwork (ICF), providing a durable, energy-efficient and future-ready residential solution. Located in Moycullen, Co. Galway, the development comprises 48 residential units, designed to support long-term community living while meeting modern housing and sustainability standards.
OCC Construction delivered the project with a strong focus on build quality, safety and programme certainty. The use of ICF construction provided excellent thermal performance, airtightness and structural robustness, while also enhancing on-site safety and reducing construction time compared to traditional methods.
The project was managed using Lean Construction principles, supported by structured planning, collaborative working and disciplined site management. Design coordination was carefully managed to ensure seamless integration of architectural, structural and M&E elements, with a strong emphasis on quality control and statutory compliance throughout the delivery process.
Through close collaboration with the client, design team and supply-chain partners, OCC Construction successfully delivered a high-performing residential development that demonstrates best practice in social housing delivery, energy efficiency and construction quality. An Doirín stands as a strong example of how alternative construction methods can be effectively deployed to deliver sustainable housing outcomes and long-term value for residents and stakeholders.
