Project Quantity Surveyor

As a Quantity Surveyor with our company, you will work collaboratively with the contracts manager and management team to deliver high quality projects from inception to handover. Projects can include Residential, Educational, Healthcare, Commercial and Refurbishment Projects

Responsibilities of the role include;

  • To ensure optimum commercial return is achieved for the projects.
  • Prepare the cost / value reconciliation reports accurately
  • Managing standard construction contract forms, including variations and final account agreements
  • Supervising and managing the accurate and timely project delivery reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor.
  • Ensure subcontract orders are prepared in accordance with company procedure having achieved the appropriate approvals.
  • Attending meetings with the Client, design teams, subcontractors and specialist subcontractors

Qualifications, skills and experience;

  • Quantity Surveying Degree or similar with 3+ years’ post Graduate experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail, able to gather, interpret and present data to facilitate preparation of budgets and subsequent valuations.
  • Proficient in Excel and Cubit.
  • Methodical, conscientious and organized, works to deliver high standards.
  • Confident working with people at all levels and willing to work in a team.

Salary

Site Engineer (Galway & Clare)

Responsibilities of the role include;

  • Setting out using total station & GPS equipment.
  • Establish and maintain procedures with design team, client and subcontractors for information flow, approvals, meetings and reporting.
  • Record all daily activities, relevant information and occurrences in site Management system, Procore (training will be provided).
  • Conduct your work in a safe manner, correct and report those who do not.
  • Comply with ISO company procedures.
  • Reporting to management team on the programme schedule and ensuring compliance with plans, specifications and building standards.
  • Undertaking surveys and ensuring engineering details are being followed on site.
  • Supervising subcontractors and checking quality of works.
  • Conduct document reviews, scheduling and attending site meetings to ensure overall compliance with building schedule.
  • Reporting to the Project Manager and senior management team on all aspects of engineering relating to the project.
  • Managing & providing training to Junior staff & Engineers
  • Ensuring compliance with agreed construction methods particularly those relating to Quality Assurance and Health & Safety.
  • Manage project close out including securing warranties, guarantees and acceptance of work, subcontract and vendor closing, including as built submissions.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience;

  • 3+ years in similar role.
  • Engineering Degree required.
  • Knowledge of construction techniques and be competent in all aspects of setting out, surveying, and temporary works.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills with good knowledge of MS office & CAD.
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within Irish construction sites.
  • Strong Management Skills.
  • Full Irish Driving licence

  • Good IT skills with ability to generate detailed site reports.

Health & Safety Officer

Responsibilities of the role include;

  • Drive, deliver and enforce compliance with the companies QEHS policies and procedures.
  • Conduct frequent site audits ensuring rigorous H&S Standards are maintained across all sites. Strict follow up is required to ensure that actions are dealt with immediately.
  • Provide advice, guidance and instruction in all Health & Safety matters to management, Safety Representatives and Employees (including sub-contractors where appropriate).
  • Ensure any accidents are reported, recorded, and investigated accordingly.
  • Co-ordinate construction stage documentation in collaboration with all relevant parties.
  • Drafting and communicating Method Statements and Toolbox Talks.
  • Ensure that all employees have appropriate training and certification.
  • Ensure that all machinery and equipment is correctly calibrated and certified.
  • Ensuring that all subcontractors are carrying out their work in a safe manner as stated in their safety statements.
  • Creating method statements for any high-risk work activity that is taking place on site and ensuring that Site Management communicates this to the workers involved.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Min 1-2 years in similar position with a main contractor.
  • Degree in H&S (or higher) required.
  • Excellent knowledge of H&S legislation and best practice within the Irish Construction sector.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills with good knowledge of MS office.
  • Strong administration and report writing skills.
  • Full Irish Driving licence
