Project Manager (North-West)

Project Manager (Mid West)

OCC Construction, an award-winning and well-established main contractor based in Galway, is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of residential and commercial projects across the West of Ireland.

As a Project Manager your responsibilities will include:

Plan, organise, and direct activities to ensure successful project delivery.
Develop and main detailed project plans, timelines, ensuring alignment with client goals and contractual requirements.
Regularly evaluate programs, providing progress updates and managing client and design team expectations effectively.
Manage resources including workforce, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
Lead and coordinate site activities to ensure compliance with engineering designs, technical specifications and safety standards.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, subcontractors, and technical assessors to address challenges and main project momentum.
Uphold compliance with company quality management systems ensuring that all work adheres to established procedures and engineering specifications.
Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to avoid delays or disruptions in project delivery.
Achieve objectives in timely delivery, cost control, quality, and client satisfaction by driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Ensure the highest standards of Health & Safety and Quality at all times setting an example for best practices on site.
Maintain strong and collaborative relationships with clients, design teams, and internal office teams to foster a positive and productive working environment.
Facilitate and lead regular site meetings, ensuring effective communication and resolution of project issues among stakeholders.
Champion lean construction principles by managing and maintaining adherence to the company’s Last Planner System ensuring continuous improvement and efficiency on site (Training will be given).

Key Requirements

5+ years’ experience in a Project Manager role
Proven track record in delivering complex projects to programme and budget.
Degree-qualified in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Strong commercial and contractual awareness (RIAI / PWC preferred).
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Thorough understanding of Irish building regulations, health & safety legislation, and ISO standards.
Ability to lead teams, manage risk, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with Procore, Asta, or similar project management platforms an advantage

Project Quantity Surveyor (Galway)

OCC Construction, a well-established main contractor based in Galway, is currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of residential and commercial projects across the West of Ireland.

Role Responsibilities

Manage budgets, cost tracking and commercial reporting.
Administer construction contracts (PWC, RIAI) and prepare payment certs and final accounts
Monitor project cash flow, report on cost/value reconciliations, and flag commercial risks
Procure subcontractor packages and support supply chain coordination
Evaluate, negotiate, and process subcontractor variations and claims
Attend site meetings and oversee subcontractor performance and compliance
Maintain all commercial and contractual documentation for audit and scorecard reporting

Key Requirements

Degree qualified Quantity Surveyor with 2+ years’ experience (ideally main contracting)
Strong experience with PWC and RIAI contracts.
Solid knowledge of subcontractor account management and commercial control
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient in excel, Cubit experience is an advantage.
Strong understanding of Irish construction regulations and industry best practice.

Salary & Package:

From €55,000+ DOE, plus full benefits package.

Health & Safety Officer (North-West)

Health & Safety Officer

OCC Construction, a well-established main contractor based in Galway, is currently seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Officer to oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance across residential and commercial projects in the West of Ireland.

Role Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation, ISO 45001 standards, and OCC’s IMS.
Lead site audits, inspections, and risk assessments across multiple active sites.
Oversee incident investigations and corrective action reporting.
Drive continuous improvement of the QEHS management system and ensure it is fully integrated across the business.
Coach and mentor site teams and project managers in best safety practices and legislative compliance.
Manage safety training frameworks and workforce certification processes.
Support the Site Manager and Project Manager in fulfilling their safety responsibilities
Report regularly to senior leadership on safety KPIs, legal compliance, and strategic risks.

Key requirements

Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a Health & Safety role (preferably construction).
Relevant Health & Safety qualification (e.g. Diploma, Degree, or equivalent).
Strong knowledge of Irish construction safety legislation and industry Codes of Practice.
Experience with ISO 45001 systems and permit-to-work processes.
Familiarity with Hammertech, Procore, or similar systems an advantage.
Ability to conduct audits, deliver training, and communicate effectively on-site.
Confident in liaising with the HSA and external bodies when required.
Strong attention to detail, proactive mindset, and a collaborative approach.
Full clean Irish driving licence essential.

Responsibilities of roles include;

Establish and maintain procedures with design team, client and subcontractors for information flow, approvals, meetings and reporting.
Reporting to management team on the programme schedule and ensuring compliance with plans, specifications and building standards.
Liaising with clients, subcontractors, quantity surveyors and other project stakeholders.
Conduct document reviews, scheduling and attending site meetings to ensure overall compliance with building schedule.
Providing support to management.
Ensuring compliance with agreed construction methods particularly those relating to Quality Assurance and Health & Safety.
Prepares and submits reports and other paperwork in a timely manner.
Engaging with your mentor, developing your skills and having a one to one meeting at a weekly review.
Positively liaising with your mentor on your continuous professional development.
