Project Description :

This project involves the construction of an exclusive development of 70 three and four bedroom A-rated homes in Headford, Co.Galway.

Houses are constructed using an ICF (Insulated Concrete Formwork) rapid build system. 

All new houses at Gort na Fuinse have been designed and built to the latest edition of the Part L Building Regulations 2019 and are achieving nZEB status as a ‘BER A2’ rated house. These houses are to the highest levels of energy efficiency and will use only 30% of the energy that the equivalent house in 2005 required. This has been achieved using a combination of high-performance building fabric materials and high efficiency heating equipment. NZEB benchmark is unlikely to be surpassed for some time. Air to water heating system with time and temperature zoned control throughout. Each house includes a Central Mechanical Ventilation Extract System. A constant exhaust air system is fitted to the houses, which will pull damp humid air from the house in a sustained and controlled manner. The use of high performance insulation in the construction of each house is used to reduce both heat and energy loss.
