Project Description :
St. Raphael’s College chapel is a protected structure built in the 1840’s in the care of the Sisters of Mercy. The chapel is approx. 240 sq. m. and the works included complete re-roofing of the chapel whilst saving the interior ornate ceilings.

Internally wall received new limerender and externally limestone slabs were restored and re-pointed. The 182 year old trusses were expertly strengthened & repaired, new specially sourced stained glass feature windows were installed and 21 listed sash windows were disassembled, restored and replaced to bring the building back to its former glory.

A substantial mechanical & electrical upgrade ensured the building was compliant with current day building regulations. Works also included the demolition of outbuildings, construction of a new 2,000 sq. m. carpark and associated civil engineering works.
